#2 The AR-15 modified to fire the .50 Beowulf proprietary cartridge exists: "...the .50 Beowulf is best described as a low-velocity, heavy caliber, making its ballistics roughly equivalent to those of early .45-70 Government rounds rather than the higher pressure rounds tolerated by lever-action rifles such as the Marlin Model 1895."

By the way: The .45-70 rifle cartridge, also known as .45-70 Government, was developed at the U.S. Army 's Springfield Armory for use in the Springfield Model 1873, which is known to collectors as the "Trapdoor Springfield.". Ooh! Scary! Not that any sane person would want to be shot by this round, but a big, bad sniper/machine gun bullet it ain't.
