#1 FN and H&K have been eating Colt's military market share. Colt got where it is by doing what far too many government contractors do, to wit making their margins via shoddy workmanship.

#2 Colt has been cutting corners and not adapting to the market and is some serious financial trouble.

#5 Colt’s current lineup of rifles is all based entirely on the AR platform.

Very competitive market; no experience with Colt but if those (chart graphic) are the prices...wow.

#6 The graph depicts Colt Python (no longer manufactured) pistols vs AR's. Obviously condition is the key. Original box, add a few dollars more.

#7 Well, I don't know - I've carried M-16 for years: regular & reservist. I've slept with it - put under the mattress, it makes a reasonable pillow.

#8 Checked their site; platforms starting at just above $1000; not an entry level price point but much better than 'lost it in a yachting misfortune' price.

#9 Cool, the LE 6940 has been a nice hog shooter. Put on a Windham 300 blackout upper, Daniel Defense bcg, with a FLIR thermal. Gives me a warm feeling during treacherous tropical systems like Imelda, which was supposed to be dead now.

#10 Got a clean used SP-01 several years ago for $1100.00 It has the old school looks and it runs just fine.
