#5 Probably due to the high incidents of 'collateral damage' in the hood. The need for basics is back. Now if they would only do that for reading, writing, math, and elocution.

#6 besoeker, I had too take a gun safety course before hunting in Ga. years ago. Don't know if it is still required but it's not a new idea.

#7 Yes, I took one down in Butler, GA. many years ago. It was pitched by Georgia Game Wardens. A very good one-day event, with an exam at the end. It was not connected to the school system however.
