#2 arrests are good

conviction and sentencing are still needed

also, there ought to be a way to sue the people who fund Antifa based on the conspiracy to deprive a person of constitutional right but you'd have to be able to id the funding sources and connect them to the event

#5 the legal case would be pretty strong if Ngo contacted the police (or the mayor) beforehand and asked for protection or alerted them to the threats -- even without this there is still a case but not as strong

Does anyone know if he did this

#6 From now on, every time Antifa plans to show up, people need to start calling the police and warning them so they have no excuse. I blame the governor and mayor for this. They need to be recalled for intentional failure to protect the city and its citizens.

Not a lawyer, but I believe it has been established in court that the police have no duty to protect anyone.

I'd suggest the journos pool their money and hire some private security. What's Blackwater up to these days?

#9 Ngo isn’t a buddy of mine, but he is anti-Antifa, and the hospital he went to confirmed he had a brain injury and bleeding on the brain. IMHO In the current culture you have to take your allies where they are or what they are.

Yes there are court cases on this but the details are different. E.g., in one important case a 911 call was made and the police, although responding didn't do it quickly. In another case there was a restraining order that the police assumed was being followed even though someone said it wasn't. That is a tougher challenge.

However, suing the Antifa funders is I think a possibility.

In the case with Ngo, the police certainly were aware of previous violence by Antifa and certainly aware that there was going to be trouble. This awareness makes the case different than the two mentioned above but perhaps not different enough for a win.
