#1 Maybe they should start with propeller driven planes. See if you can clone a P-47 and work your way up to a Hellcat.

Maybe even start with a biplane design. /sarc

#2 IIRC, when they stole the designs for some Russian hardware, they screwed up the engines on that too

#3 Even IF it worked impeccably, owning it isn't the same as weaponizing it, X and f(X) are not the same thing.

#4 Combat operations are a whole different thing than cruising around and launching a few planes.

#5 You guys are laughing, didn't the US launch some oil free ship transmissions?

#6 When our naval personnel used to tour each other's ships, the US sailors noticed something very wrong with the Chinese ships. They didn't know how to do damage control. The design was poor at keeping water out of other areas and the "disaster control crews" were usually the worst of the worst on that ship and no other Chinese sailor wanted to do the job.

In the US Navy, EVERYONE is trained in damage control and can do it at any time. Past battles showed how crucial it was and the US learned it through the loss of lives and ships.

If a Chinese ship is hit, they will rapidly sink as there is no idea in the Chinese navy how to save it.

The U.S. Navy’s Expensive New Warships Are Breaking Down at Sea

#8 It didn’t take long for the Navy to decide that 75 people couldn’t keep an LCS in working order. “Data from LCS operations, particularly from Freedom’s early operational deployment and performance during major fleet exercises, suggested the need to increase the core crew complement to accommodate more maintenance and watch requirements,” the Navy reported following a 2013 study.

Two years later, the study’s assertion apparently proved true as LCSs started breaking down at sea.

Ouch!

#9 Thanks Skid. The depths and excuses of the Navy are begging for a, "your fired".

#10 The ChiComms also realized the J-15 is WAY underpowered and can barely get off the deck with a full tank of gas let alone a full load. It is nothing more than a short range CAP plane right now. They are a long ways away from developing a full carrier strike capability.

#11 I don't think you'll find many defenders of the LCS outside the contractors who built them and the brass they bribed.
