I can't help but think, well before regime change, the Iranians will react in a violent way. Thru proxies and direct military confrontation against the US and allies (not Germany) especially Israel they will attack. I hope that Bolton and Pompeo have thought this out. It will get ugly.

#3 Forget about the Straight, aren't there just a few refineries and docks to manage? 3-4 targets that have nothing to do with battle at sea? A civilian asking.

#4 Matter of time before the Persians swarm a ship in the straits.. no room for a blue water boat to maneuver, so I think the first contact will cause serious loss. One hopes there is a plan ready for massive retaliation. Think Gulf of Tonkin scenario.
