#3 U2's (or TR1's, or whatever you want to call them) are all over the place. They're slow, not dramatic, and somewhat low maintenance, so most people don't even realize they're around. Tend to come and go in the early morning hours. The RC135 Rivet Joint is more of an indicator of interest in the area.
BTW, the SR71 wasn't pushed out for cause. What basically killed it was the way it tied up tanker assets, a problem that the AF still hasn't fixed.

#6 They've been making incremental improvements on the U-2 over the years. The engine can operate at a higher altitude, is more fuel efficient, and other tweaks. I suspect it has a more modern version of the Iron Ball coating also?
