#1 hospitals pad the bill of people with heavy health insurance to compensate for having to treat people with little or no health insurance (e.g., illegal aliens).

the hospitals are also paying for very expensive equipment that is almost never used, specialists on call who are almost never consulted, etc.

the markup on ordinary products are astounding also, a single aspirin or one diaper gets billed at $10 sometimes

#3 I think the shell-game aspect is why so many GOP are abjectively pro-illegal immigration. They figure tehy'll pay taxes of some kind (or their children will) forstalling the day Social Security collapses.

Democrats just want the votes, they don't have the math skills to realize the long term financial problems.
