#3 Clear indication that the Afghans are doing more of the serious fighting. They don't care what some mealy mouth bureaucrat or NGO says or thinks when the bad boys use human shields. They're out to kill the Tellibunnies. Hang wringing pols and JAGs who can't read the UCMJ are not in place to obstruct military operations.

#4 3804 civilian deaths in Afghanistan in 2018 is tragic but for comparison there were 17,700+ civilian deaths at the peak of the Syrian conflict in 2014. In the peak years of ISIS's occupation of Iraq (2013-2015) there were about 9,000 civilians killed per year.

#5 The irony here is, the UN doesn't track it's own casualties. Nor does it often memorialize or discuss them. Anyone remember the late Vieira de Mello and the 21 other UN personnel who perished with him ?
