#1 Well, if the CIA says bin Salman ordered it, that settles it - bin Salman wasn't involved.

#2 The Babylon Bee could make a great article about how the CIA is "predicting that the USSR will finish conquering the world any day now!" Still, what would be more authoritative than Al-Jazeera citing an anonymous CIA staffer...?

#4 Both the Washington Post and the Associated Press cited unnamed officials familiar with the CIA conclusion.

Sources? This is the part that always bothers me. If I saw something written or broadcast from Director Haspel, I'd sign on to it.

#5 The relationship between the CIA and the media is so convoluted it makes a Klein Bottle seem straight forward.

#6 More on the topic at the New York Times.

#7 So the NYT also says so, my confidence meter is pegged left. Bottom line is why? Why would bin Salman have ordered it (if he did?) Why would CIA say so? The latter is easy - to discredit Trump Admin's ability to support bin Salman. But why would they do that (besides Deep State hatred of all things Trump?) Is there something worse about bin Salman than I know of? - he seems no worse than those before or the alternatives (and better than most.

#8 So... the legal government of a sovereign nation ordered the assassination of a mouthpiece/organizer for the world's oldest and most fecund terrorist organization.

Not seeing any problem beyond it was executed a bit clumsily.

#9 "So what's the big deal" He says in perfect English.
"I do not know" I reply.
