Eventually no one will follow him, and he will have to hide in a sewer.

And then inevitably he will be hauled out gibbering and begging as Kadaffy was..... and be straddled over the hood of a 1957 Dodge and bayoneted in the rectum and finished off with a burst of 9mm in the head.
It will be ( relatively ) quick.
The people of Venezuela deserve their fate....as does California and its people for that matter.
