You should see "She who must be obeyed" and our precious little darling Rat Terrier.

A woman only wants two things from a man:

DNA
Take out the trash

After you've given her the DNA for her 2.5 kids, all she wants is for you to take out the trash. That's where dogs fill in the gap. I can tell you that women most of all do not want a dog that can talk because of all of the stuff she tells the dog when you are not around.

Remember what Heinlein said:

Women and cats are going to do as they please and men and dogs are just going to have to get used to it.

I rank below the fish, only because the hermit crabs died.

And yeah, dog gets spoiled bigly. Knew that would happen, one of my conditions of concession was dog had to be a work dog. He loves it when I sneak him off to work/play.

Paid off. Wife and kids went fishing, suddenly found themselves surrounded by cattle with Big Poppy not happy about humans in his harem. Dog got the cattle gathered and went nose to hoof long enough for the family to egress.
