#2 "Swampy area"? That is the everglades, in fact seven miles west might well put him in the boundaries of the national park assuming the plane left Homestead general aviation airport on the edge of the east everglades.

#3 Two of my high school classmates died while taking off at night in a flight school plane without permission or experience.

At least they weren't eaten by an alligator.
