Like the Pakistanis, Somalis have an inbreeding problem -- so it is conceivable that he was schizophrenic/bipolar/depressed/autistic/mentally retarded, and likely that he could tick off more than one box. In terms of autism alone in the Somali population of Minneapolis, they suffer at a rate of one out of every 32, compared to one to 88 among Americans in general, and the autism is also more severe for Somalis compared to the general population.

And jihadi groomers look for people who are mentally unbalanced; they are easier to get to buy into the idea of jihad, and easier to get to run amok with a knife or put on a suicide vest.

Quite probably Little Mo's family have been looking for him because he wandered off, and it will turn out he's been spending a lot of time on the internet or with a friend from the mosque lately.

#8 I don't think it makes it ok, just that it helps the search for what and who pushed him to do what he did. And decides whether he ends up in the prison psych ward or the general population.
