#1 The Arab Bank was founded in Jerusalem, and from its inception had ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Yasser Arafat's brother Gamal was personal secretary of Ahmed Hilmi, founder and the manager of the Arab Bank whose home was in Jerusalem before leaving for Amman after the founding of the State of Israel. Gamal would serve as a member of "All Palestinian Government" formed in Gaza in September 1948. In Gaza and throughout the Middle East the Arab Bank has remained, in fact, THE Arab Bank.
