#2 So how much of this is the current Russian regime's attempt to buy off noninterference in their own current domestic disorders? It seems too early for this sort of occulted bargaining tactic, but then, I haven't been paying close attention to the post-election protests, or Russian internal "politics" in general.

#7 Anyone would be brain-dead to support a type of Sunni-US/Shia-Russian re-alignment. Vlad will be tossed; further integration with Teheran will be hard to pull apart. BHO has created the worst of possible messes. Again, if stupidity was a crime...
