#2 It is probably correct to say the US is not capable of mounting a winning conventional attack on Iran right now, using current ROE. It is probably correct to say the US is not willing to mount an attack of any kind right now. But it is certainly not correct to say the US cannot destroy Iran in about 20 minutes, if something happens to cause the US to decide to do so.

#3 Back in the 80s, Iran and Iraq fought a prolonged war that ended in a stalemate when neither side could put a team on the field. In 2003, in US vs Saddam, the US military set a record for yards gained on the ground. Past performance is no guarantee, as the financial guys say, but the US military excels at ginormous set-piece battles.

I suspect the Iranians are backing up their bluster by stashing bug-out cash in offshore accounts. Just in case, you know?

#4 Personally, I'm intrepreting this claim = Artic as meaning that Iran recognizes that radicla Islamism has a real chance to takeover the whole of the Muslim ME + Nord Affrique [North Africa], as per both PUBLIC GOVTS + NUCPROGS - AS SUCH, THE US = US-NATO/EU, Allied WILL LIKELY LOSE MANY OR ALL OF THEIR STRATEGIC FORWARD STAGING AREAS FOR THE PROJECTION OF MIL POWER.

Once Iran goes Nukies, i.e. acquires LR NUc Weapons + the reliable accurate means of delivery same agz an enemy in war, pro-US sovereign regional allies, e.g. TURKEY + SAUDIS + -STANS, ETC., will be reluctant to allow US MIlfors + logistics to transit thru their countries lest they invite Iranian nuclear retaliation includ PROXY NUC TERRORISM.

IRAN = IS ESSENS SAYING/WARNING THAT THE TIME IS COMING IN FUTURE WHEN THE US WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROJECT POWER LIKE IT DOES NOW.

The USDOD will have to rely on alternate, lun long Long LONG L-O-N-G LLLLLLLOOOOOOONNGGGG -distance routes.
