I suspect these demos were not large enough. If the Paleos lined up tens of thousands of women and children with a plan to run them over the border, that would be a different situation.

That's what they did when Israel was retreating from Lebanon, and it forced them to abandon equipment and leave in a rout. Because the Israelis don't want to hurt women and children, and the Paleos don't care.

#6 Frank,actually, there are mine fields in the Golan Heights - although well inside the Israeli side. They are left over from when Syria owned the Golan Heights.

When I toured Israel a few months ago, the tour guide pointed out the areas, marked off by fences with signs. I suggested that Israel should mark the fences with "Danger Minefield" in Hebrew and "Welcome - come in and pick the flowers" in Arabic.
