#1 I very much doubt what worked in Iraq will work in Afghanistan.

Not least because in Afghanistan you can't go out and round up suspected bad guys. It's a rural not urban society.

#2 Osama's backers are in Pakistan and Saudi and they can easily be rounded up or killed.

#3 In the article they mention this data mining has developed into an art in the last five years. The wealth of information secured adds so much new information to pursue. They can now act so quickly the another cell has no idea what has happened. They can trust no one and no safe house can be safe. I believe they are running to where ever it is they feel safe. Cross dressing is out unless they dress like goats. For a little while anyway. I would suggest heavy use of Valium about 40 mg QID(4x/day)plus PRN (when needed).

#5 I think it's clearly been proven that targeted killing via Predator and Reaper work very well. However, the CIA needs to relearn how to zap enemy leaders in person.

And not just commanders in the field, but "spiritual leaders" sending forth killers from their madrassas and mosques, financiers who underwrite the terrorism effort, and though we have a rigid rule against assassinating "foreign leaders", there is no reason at all to *not* assassinate their effective deputies and lieutenants.

Likewise, the CIA should make some deals with other intelligence services, allowing us to take out the terrorists and terrorist backers in their country, discreetly, if they do the same for us in the US, very discreetly.

#7 Anonymoose, their idea of taking out terrorists in this country is probably taking out retired CIA operatives _here_.
