#1 Mr. Obamas well-known solicitude to Islam notwithstanding, the aftermath of bin Ladens death does not appear to be going over well. Everything leading up the takedown was extremely professional. Everything since is amateur hour.

I know many here at the 'Burg will be shocked by such an accusation!

Besides, even sea creatures have better taste.

#10 1. Reliance of the Traveler is silent on the issue of removing a body from land for sea burial.

Reliance of the Travller: p. 235, Burying Martyrs g4.20
g.4.20. It is unlawful to wash the body of a martyr. (O: even if in a state of major ritual impurity (janaba) or the like) or perform the funeral prayer over him. A martyr (shahid) means someone who died in battle with non-Muslims (O: from fighting them, as opposed to someone who died otherwise, such as a person killed out of oppression when not in battle, or who died from fighting non-polytheists, such as (N: Muslims) transgressors.
It is recommended that war gear be removed from the body (O: such as a breastplate and the like), and it is best to bury the martyr in the rest of his bloodstained clothes (O: since it is the effect of worship), though the responsible family member may nevertheless remove the garments and shroud the body before burial.

G5.1 Then the deceases is buried (O: Obligatorily). It is best to buty him in the cemetery....
If some one dies on a ship and it is impossible to bury him on land, the body is placed (O: Tightly lashed) between two planks (O: to obviate bloating) and thrown into the sea (O: so that it reaches shore, even if the inhabitations are non-Muslims, since a Muslim might find the body and bury it facing the direction of prayer(qibla)).

3. "Al-Mutwatta of Imam Malik ibn Anas" is silent on the issue of burial at sea.

4. "al-Shafii's Risala" is silent on the issue of burial at sea.

5. "The Distinguished Jurists Primer" is silent on the issue of burial at sea.

6. "Fiqh: According to the Quran and the Sunnah" is silent on the issue of burial at sea.
