The Competition Commission, the Design Council, the Energy Savings Trust, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Forestry Commission and the Office for Fair Trading are also still at risk. Whitehall insiders expect the majority to be abolished, removed from public funding or radically reformed.
The majority of the British people want to hear that the Frankenstein that is the EHRC is finally "dead, buried, cremated" and that the door gave Phillips a mighty smack on the arse as he was being bum-rushed out of it.

#2 tipper, don't be too hard on Phillips. He has a roughly 50:50 record on moonbattery and has often said things which are bang on the mark - the sort of comments, about things like 'positive discrimination' which would make the likes of Diane Abbott's skin crawl. e.g.:

"Trevor Phillips has spoken on the need for free speech to "allow people to offend each other." These comments came after the protests against the Danish cartoons satirising the Prophet Muhammad which sparked protests in the Muslim world. He stated in an ITV interview: "One point of Britishness is that people can say what they like about the way we should live, however absurd, however unpopular it is."

I think he'd be supporting the right of the Gateshead martyr to burn the stupid Koran, for instance.
