#2 Well, the press, unless it's the press corps, aren't military, so I really doubt it. More to the non-annoying point, BO doesn't even hold his hand over his heart when the Anthem is playing, acts more like he's embarassed by it, you really expect his supporters to do much?

#3 I set aside any other feelings I may have about this, in the great relief that finally, America has another living Medal of Honor recipient.

Effectively, there is a two year limit after the event, for the issuance of the Medal of Honor, which may only be waived by act of congress. So outside of such congressional action, there will be no living recipients for the First or Second Gulf War.

A terrible tragedy for the brave men and women who fought heroically in those wars.

It would be a worthy cause to petition congressmen to reexamine unique acts of bravery for those wars, with an eye that America should benefit from having more living heroes among us.

#4 It will mean little or nothing if Zero salutes him or not. It will mean nothing if the press salutes him or not. When his commanders and fellow soldiers salute him it will mean everything. When Pres Bush meets with him and salutes him it will mean everything. Because a salute is an act of honor and respect, given from people of honor and respect to people of honor. Any salute from zero or the press will be hollow and empty of any honor, and not worthy.
