#1 My son's were casual acquaintances of his in high school. (Wheaton North is a large school - they recognized each other in the halls and maybe spoke a few words..)

#2 I am thinking that all of the medals coming out now are an attempt by the demirat GOP to try and shore up some support. In addition, they pretend to demonstrate how they support the troops.

#7 They let all the kids out of school early today for this. Since mine are long out of school I don't know if they had a ceremony or just an announcement and then let them out.

#8 I don't give a shit if it is politically motivated by that pres. SSG Miller's command put him up for it, the Army supported it, DOD supported it, congress supported it. He deserves it, his family deserves it, his community and friends deserve it. They all need to know a hero once walked among them. I will save my political views on zero for another fight another day. I don't want to take away from what this great young man did for my country. God bless him.
