#1 Next time swing horizontally. Then put the spade to work and add the 180 pounds of organic fertilizer to the garden.

#2 Try that crap around here and you'll get a face-full of buckshot.

#3 Alas, I have no shotgun with me here. I fear I would be reduced to using the 9mm with the hollow point ammo, to avoid overpenetration into the neighbors' living space.

Unless the thug happened to venture into my kitchen and the cast iron frying pan were to hand. That might work, too ....

#4 Only if you practiced with the frying pan.

If you need a guide to usage, I suggest the movie "Throw Momma From The Train."

#5 Glenmore, you don't know if the defendant had the space to do more than he did.

#6 The prosecution refused to accept that his actions amounted to lawful self-defence and argued it was 'over the top' to attack a man armed with a knuckleduster by using a 'battlefield weapon'.

The prosecution either has no sense of what it means to have to fight, or he's hoping the jury are idiots.

The prudent man does not need to think about what weapon to use - he grabs the one that gives him the most advantage. Anything less and I would question his sanity.

I would think that grabbing the samurai sword would be the best course of action because any sane opponenet would think "I only have a knuckleduster. Now would be a good time to leave", thereby avoiding the conflict altogether. I praise the man's judgement at all levels.

I wonder what the prosecutor or judge would do under similar circumstances.

#7 You're in East Yorkshire now pal. Never bring a knuckleduster to an ornamental sword fight.
