#1 Last year a 38-year-old woman from Hove in East Sussex was stunned when she walked into her lounge to find a PCSO clambering through her window. The woman, who did not want to be named, was then given a stern lecture by the officer on home security.

'I thought it was a bit much really, but it did make me think,' she said.

The "PCSO" laughed as he walked over to the next house, where he might find something and not have to deliver the "lecture".

The survivors lecturing me at 2am would get another round to the head for their hubris.

#4 Remember this is in Britain, where the Government Is excessively (in fact it approaches Paranoia) anti-Gun.
Here in the USA we'd have dead Officers if they were foolish enough to do this.

#5 It would be better just to knock on doors during daylight hours and go in and have a little chat with every homeowner on the block. Usually I would be more worried about dogs or a neighbor with a gun than the homeowner, but then again, this is Britain.
