#2 Acute SUS (Small Unit Syndrone). Been going around for years. Bogus Ranger or SF tabs, Viet ribbon are/were the favorites. Watched more than a few on active duty smoke-in. Generally some other investigation or charge leads to a look at the records. Goes downhill from there. One of the best was a new senior NCO who dropped by the Rigger shack for some..."jump refresher training." Wise move on his part actually. He'd never been to basic airborne school. He was jumping for two months before the issue came to light. Ya gotta admit, the guy had guts.

#4 Simply make it a money making exercise. Those who identify fakes get 50% of any fines levied against the perp with the minimum fine being $10K. Bounty hunting in times like these can be far more effective.
