#1 I don't know about "the wisdom of crowds", TW, but I do believe in the wisdom of markets, an organic process through which millions get to decide for themselves as opposed to having their "betters" decide for them. A pox on elites and the ideas they ride in on.

#2 "The wisdom of crowds" can imply ropes over cottonwoods, burning cars, of Islamic devotion. "The wisdom of markets" implies something entirely different.

#3 Crowds, are no smarter than their leader,
and their leader often is NOT the smartest one in the bunch, others go along until they disagree, then leave the "Crowd".

#4  The wisdom of markets is no more magical than the wisdom of crowds. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed, The only justification for any government is to secure these unalienable rights. Markets are just a subset of the exercise of those rights. Don't make an idol of them.

#5 there are other "so called" intellectuals whose impact is still being felt in more positive ways than Wilsons...
George Kennan for one.

#6 Perhaps a way to put some of these press and intellectuals in the gallows for consequences would be good if there can be a way figured to do it right.
