#1 Car pool lanes...coming to a freeway near you.

#2 As of earlier this month about 80% of the highway and transit related stimulus funding had been 'obligated'. This means the States had submitted plans, estimates and specs and the feds had approved them. However, only about 10% of the funds were 'spent'. Construction takes a long time and it is a reimbursement program.
Of course the AASHTO people love it, partly because it is 100% federal funds (no state or local match).

#3 My Egg's haven't hatched yet. In fact my chicken hasn't even laid any... however I did buy a chicken and I'm sure it'll lay thousands of eggs a week once it gets started....

#4 I-95 Sluggers MUST PAY! License them immediately.

Slugging is a term used to describe a unique form of commuting found in the Washington, DC area. It has thousands of vehicles at its disposal, moves thousands of commuters daily, and the best part, itÂ’s FREE! Not only is it free, but it gets people to and from work faster than the typical bus, metro, or train. It's unique because it is not a government sponsored commuter program, but one created out of ingenuity from local citizens to solve commuter problems.

#6 It isn't unique to the DC area. The SF/Oakland area has slug lines too. In fact, because carpools get to drive on the SF/Oakland Bay Bridge for free, and slug lines caused carpools to form, SF and Oakland lost a lot of revenue. So, SF and Oakland once tried to ban the slug line rendezvous.
