#1 I had the pleasure of working with Col McMahon when he would bring his Philadelphia Marine Reserve squadron to MCAS Beaufort for summer training. At the time he was flying the FJ3 Fury.

Ed was already doing work with Johnny Carson on a show called "Who Do You Trust". Col McMahon was always a nice guy and never full of himself. He was also a big guy so the FJ3 cockpit proved a little cramped for him.

#2 I believe he played football at Boston College with my uncle Don Aubrey--a bomber pilot in the Pacific.

#3 Obviously a patriot and a talented performer. Seems to also be a genuinely good guy with many charity appearances. RIP, sir
