#1 The A.M.A., with about 250,000 members, is America’s largest physician organization.

I'm guessing these boys (and lady doctors too) make substantial contributions to election campaigns. There may be hope yet.

#2 I thought the AMA was traditionally in favor of socialized medicine.

#3 They checked the amount Medicare and Tricare pay out and then Obama's rhetoric about 'cutting costs' and figured they weren't going to be able to pay for even their educational costs when it was all done.

#4 Only about 35% of all physicians are AMA members. Don't take all they say as representing physicians at large.

Socialized medicine = the end of America. Obama and his cronies know this. 2010 can't come soon enough.

#5 The AMA is an organization that I would never belong to, for lots of reasons. If the AMA is coming out against this it's only because Bambi didn't meet their price.

#6 In the 60s the AMA fought Medicare tooth and nail until it was tooled into a nice Fee for Service profit center for their practice. The bloom fell off that rose when the government starting running Medicare more like Managed Care instead of Fee for Service.
