#3 Four day visit? Why...no.

Gaza – Ma’an – A delegation of 41 European parliament members left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on Wednesday less than a day after they arrived in the war torn territory. It is not known why the group led by Italian lawmaker Luisa Morgantini left so soon after their arrival.

I dunno. Posturing phonies? EU pussies? I can think of lotsa reasons...

The 15-nation delegation was expected to spend several days visiting devastated areas and meeting survivors of Israel’s three-week assault last winter.

They were probably devastated to find no five star hotels in Gaza.

During their brief stay, the parliament members visited the ruins of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) building in Gaza City, which was leveled by an Israeli airstrike.

Hmmmmmm... looks pretty bad. Well, our work is done here. Adios, my Gazan brothers...

Arriving at the Egypt-controlled Rafah crossing point Tuesday amorning, Morgantini said the lawmakers had come to “express solidarity” with the people of Gaza and bear witness to the destruction.

...and, surprisingly, that only took about...ten minutes.

There was no comment as the group left the area.

Step on it, driver! If we hurry we can still catch dinner in Cairo.

Separately, the European Union’s High Representative for foreign policy, Javier Solana, arrived in the region on Wednesday for three days of meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Solana has no plans to visit Gaza.

No, I'm not as dumb as I look...
