#1 Most "Community Organizers" wouldn't know how to control their 'clients' without a perceived crisis so, in many cases, they manufacture their own.

Mike Kruglik, a Chicago community organizer who helped in the Obama campaign, said this to a New Republic editor about Mr. Obama:

"He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better."

As Saul Alinsky said, "rub raw the sores of discontent".

Separately, I find it absolutely fascinating that companies are starting to refuse government money because of the strings attached, and even looking to return funds already accepted as soon as possible. The stimulus initiative and the budget just passed may not be nearly quite as expensive -- or as impactful -- as the new Executive team had planned.
