#1 If I went back for the shopkeeper like the trooper did, he would have been turned over to the Iraqis only after a ride on my bayonet. My admiration goes out to this trooper for super-human control.

#3 Sergeant Weeren was praised by commanders for his presence of mind because after the explosion...

I can't say what I would have done if I caught the man responsible for the deaths of six of my buddies, but I'll bet you a dollar I wouldn't have shown the restraint that Sgt. Weeren did. No way.

He praised his men for their enormous character, saying their performance had been stellar. That platoon and company did everything right, he said. They were extraordinarily brave.

Indeed.
