#1 I would have kept warm by kicking the crap out of that door until it opened. Unless it's steal and reinforced with a bar it should have given before the 4 days.

She would not have bought the alibi either!

#5 Most toilets dorrs open inward, towards the loo. It's a building code thing.

#6 A door that opens inward is only held closed by the doorjamb which is held in place by nails and paint. Most doors are also made of wood that can splinter given enough of a beating.

This guys retired, perhaps he's really old and incapable of beating the door down, or making enough noise before his friends left that he wasn't left behind.

Still, I would have tried.

#7 should've used his belt buckle to drive the hinge pins out, then slide the belt under the door and pull back to take it off the hinges.

#8 On my person I always carry a good folding knife and a pocket lithium flashlight. They are pretty comforting things if you get stuck anywhere, but especially in a building during a power failure, or an elevator.
