#1 There were Net reports that WHITNEY HUSTON FAN OSAMA BIN LADEN may be shifting focii to AFGHANISTAN - IMO, no reason for hima and AQ to do so despite any Paki probs except to destabilize China???

#2 They're probably thinking that Pakistan is too hot for Mr. bin Laden, now that the Pakistani Army is actually going against the Taleban who are hosting him, JosephM. But Afghanistan isn't safe for Mr. bin Laden and his Al Qaeda cronies either. Perhaps they can make their way back to the Sudan -- they were happy there once before, and it doesn't look like the U.N. is going to interfere in their internal affairs after all.

#3 OBL and the Taliban may be shifting their focus to Afghanistan, but they're about to lose 2,000 fighters there in a single battle. As far as destabilizing China, I don't think AQ can accomplish that. Now, Chinese government corruption ... may be another story.
