Now wait a minute. Correct me if I'm wrong but I though NATO was established to confront the Soviet Union along the Iron Curtain. The mean, old Soviet Union. The Evil Empire. That other super power with millions of troops, tanks, aircraft and nukes.

But now, with a few hundred troops in Afghanistan, they are over extended?

Not that I want them in Gaza, mind you. I'm just a little flabbergasted that after all these years and having survived the Cold War the potent NATO military machine has been asked to intervene in a few minor situations and suddenly it's over extended.

#4 Most of the NATO country militaries have been totally gutted. Even the Brits are underpaid, under equipped and scorned by Gordon Brown.

But they brag that they are great at peacekeeping. Let's see them put their money and men where their mouths are, for once.

Impotent forces make good shields. Jeeze Louise! The Israeli govt is getting as batty as the US govt.
