#1 In Colorado they used minimum security prisoners to pick the agricultural crops. Worked out well for everyone involved according to the RMNews. It took awhile for the workers to get in physical shape sense they were overweight and lazy, but in the end they expressed a feeling of accomplishment.

#3 Meanwhile, the Tsar and all his legal immigrant friends sleep peacefully, and their employer is enjoying his weekend....

Mr Cunha, Mr Gay and Mr Hammond, try obeying the law next time and maybe you and your workers could do the same.

#5 "They're worried about terrorists, but I've never heard of a farmworker walking across the Arizona desert with a nuke strapped across his back."

Give it time.

This practice of falsely legitimizing illegal aliens by calling them "immigrants" has got to stop. Media outlets that persist in such willful misrepresentation should be subject to legal action.

#6 My two cents:

1) It seems that illegal immigrants are more of a burden than a boon given all the free education and medical care they get without paying their taxes. This probably more than offsets the lower wages they take, but business owners don't see past the cash register to help their legal customers becoming more affluent by not having to fund illegal aliens. More affluent customers translates into more income for the businesses, yada yada yada.

2) Would getting rid of illegal aliens ultimately reduce the number of unemployeed citizens and thereby contribute to inflation by making employers compete for workers?

#7 Bah. I think what would happen is that the higher labor costs would force adoption of (more) farm automation. There was a time people were confident that cotton could only be picked by hand.
