#1 LOL great video....after it finishes, there was a link to the morning of Kim II Sung's death, the fakest cries I've ever seen

#2 good video, but it's a repost - I think from someone's, perhaps RD's, comments. The tool with the camera doesn't last long, does he? Idiots drove right up to reinforced crossfire-setup bunkers...lol!

#3 I commented on this the other day. The level of tactical "thought" these morons show is astounding. I think I learned this lesson in my first game of "Squad Leader" at age 13 or so.

#5 Frank, Rob, my thoughts exactly.

"Gee, guys, let's drive across this billiard table of a desert right up to a fortified strongpoint in our bright white pickup truck, then jump out and take cover behind this, ah, this . . . air here."

#6 I dunno, they loked pretty fierce and proud, with their toy cars and fuzzy dashboards knives and gun sex. There's no way any puny western man can stand against those mighty deserty warriors, I mean let's face, they're simply unbeatable, let's surrender and convert.

Btw, did anyone notice the leader seemed to have a pair of handcuffs at his belt? Expected to make at least one prisoner for the follow up to his lil' propaganda vid, didn't he?

#7 Anonymous,
What struck me and my Significant Other as wildest of all was how thoroughly outta shape these guys seemed to be. The one dude had a serious set of man b*obs - I'm wondering how far outta the truck he even got.

#8 You sure it's not a fake?

They seem awfully pale at the start and you see no faces, and the toy-car planning is laughable.

#9 OH No, these men are glorious martyers...not that there plan has to be good, just that they died fighting for Islam is plenty.

OH the virgins!

#10 Like any virgin would want some idiot with the back of their head blown off or nuts shot off. Get real.

#11 If we really want to get real...why would anyone believe virgins are a reward for the faithful followers of a religion or that we'd even need to have sex in the after-life?

#12 Good video. Someone should put together a compilation of clips like this, including my favourite: those jihadis in Afghanistan getting whumped by an AC-130.

#13 Years ago, I saw a video fake done by some bored ROTC cadets. It actually looked pretty good, even if some of the techniques used on the enemy were not quite US Army doctrine--like stabbing a downed enemy 14 times with a survival knife. I gather that some quantity of alcohol had been consumed during the production thereof.

#14 why would anyone believe virgins are a reward for the faithful followers of a religion

Because they don't have a prayer of getting anything at all in this life, Spomort Greling4204.

#15 Watched Lawrence of Arabia on Turner Classic Movies last night. If you can ignore the postmodern psychology stuff, which looks very dated by now, the portrayal of Arab tribal behavior seems pretty accurate in light of what most of us have only learned in recent years. At the unruly Arab Council after Damascus has been taken, the argument is over which tribe will control what assets in the city. The telephones don't work, so one "wise" old sheik says, well, what do we need telephones for anyway? There is a lot of truth in this scene, since a few years later, when Aramco was moving into Saudi, the Wahabi imams didn't want them to introduce telephones into the country, fearing impurity or corruption or some such bad juju. This was the sort of disagreement which led to the Ikhwan uprising, IIRC.

Anyway, the scenes where Lawrence is showing the Arab guys how to blow up the Turkish army trains made me think, well, maybe we should blame ole Lawrence for teaching these ignoramuses how to do IEDs.

#16 I saw LoA in a old theater with a real balcony a couple years back. Four things struck me:

1. Yes, I noted the jirga scramble in Damascus for booty/goodies/control of infrastructure and a complete unwillingness to actually do any work to maintain them.

2. Ol' Prince Faisal in his tent, demanding more guns and bigger guns and ... more guns.

3. The real reason they wanted to blow up the train tracks was that the train directly theatened the lucrative 'pilgrim caravan' business. No one wanted to spend 50 or more days on a camel if they could get to Mecca in three on the train.

4. The sound of the ululation as Emir Lawrence rode out of the canyon was mesmerizing. Really.

#18 Dumb as a pickup truck full of hammers.

And to add to what Mike said: I too noticed how well-fed some of the insurgentsroad-kill were.
