#2 Even a stopped clock is right (once or) twice a day - Sharia might be ok on this. But if the thieves were British soldiers would they still get the million dollar compensation money for loss of a limb?

#5 So, do they cut off the left hand and expose the populus to someone whose handshake will forever be unclean? Or do they cut off the right hand and force the populus the have everything this person touches become unclean? Or do they just assign the rotter his own little boy with a sponge on a stick?

The question still stands. Either way, this punishment causes the public to be exposed to haram conduct. Personally, I find the contradiction exemplary of Islam in general.
