#1 Insurgent violence in Afghanistan this year will likely double that of 2005 and will continue next year

Especially when the cut-n-run party takes over Congress...

“Kabul needs help because it lacks capacity, not because it lacks political will or lacks support”

Saigon, 1975.

#3 Another totally lost cause, unless we address the problem in Pakland. We apparently are burning $2 billion per week in Iraq. How much are we wasting in Afganland ? I haven't seen recent figures. What's really interesting is that these figures may not include fuel burned daily in patrols by Navy/ Air Force. This figure alone must be staggering. This has a lot to do with complete utilization worldwide of oil. This never gets mentioned either. The US is in serious economic straits. Most of this is fantasy funding, supplied by buyers of Treasury notes. We will never be able to repay this debt. Then what ? What will the lives of US citizens born today be like in 75 years ? Maybe not too good if the country is forced to function in debtor class.

#4 I don't believe the report. Balochi nationalists have hardened on phony refugees from Afghanistan and the federal government is responding. As for the Waziri tribalists, Pakistan signed an agreement with them with the purpose of enabling cross-border retaliation by NATO.

There has been bad publicity in Pakistan concerning Mullah deceit that led young terrorists to be slaughtered.

Now that is an interesting tidbit, Sneaze Shaiting3550. Very interesting indeed. Ties in nicely with the Afghans televising interviews with captured jihadi wannabees around Ramadan, complaining how the experience wasn't at all what was promised.

#7 He did, Shipman. Hindu-Moslem violence, for example, has always been called "communal" violence.
