#1 I think the Ethiopian troops would be cool with that. In fact, painting black crosses on the front of their BDUs, so the Islamists know that they are indeed Crusaders, and are going to go at them with the same ferocity as the Crusaders of old.

Ethiopia does brag about the fact of it being the world's first Christian nation. The Ethiopian church claims that one of its churches, Our Lady Mary of Zion, is host to the original Ark of the Covenant that Moses carried with the Israelites during the Exodus.

#2 I was wondering how Moses got all the way down to Ethiopia from Egypt, but I read that: "According to the historian Flavius Josephus, Moses led the Egyptians in a campaign against invading Ethiopians and routed them. While Moses was besieging the city, Tharbis, the daughter of the Ethiopian king, fell in love with Moses and wished to marry him. He agreed to do so if she would procure the deliverance of the city into his power. She did so immediately, and Moses promptly married her".

#3 Ethiopia exists as an island of Christiandom in a sea of Islam because in the Prophet's day a group of Muslim refugees from Mecca were welcomed by the Christian Ethiopian king who is said to have found nothing objectionable in their creed. This was early on, before the "slay the infidels" ethic of the later, more powerful Mohammed. Anyway, Ethiopia get a special dispensation against conquest. That ticket may be about to expire.

#4 And while we're on the subject, the rumours of the Ark of the Covenant center on Axum, which is now Eritrea. There's a book called the Kebra Negast which tells the story of the Queen of Sheba having a son by Solomon, Menelik I, who inherited the Ark and took it from Jerusalem. It's the basis for Haile Selasse's claim to divinity as a royal descendant of David.
