#1 Sunnis better realize and quick that they are the minority, and as such are borderline to being forced to emigrate. Sure it would be unpleasant, but it would have been because they refused to cooperate.

#2 Just doing what every muslim group does when in the monority. Insist that their rights are greater than anyone elses and demand that one lives by their rule alone. 'Cause they are the "holy ones" and Allan demands jihad.

Round and round and round
in the killing game.

#3 The Sunnis realize that it's over and are trying to get the best deal they can. That's why all the antics. Horse trading. They are good at it.

Also, we really need to Sunnis in Iraq. Together the Sunni and Kurds can keep the place in line. If the Shias take over the country will gravitate toward Iran's orbit. Already over a million Sunnis have left Iraq. That's a bad thing.

Even the Sunnis with blood on their hands are necessary. Think of the huge role former Nazis played in the rebuilding of Germany. Not pretty, but it's how things work. We'll get the worst of them and then hold our nose and let the healing process begin with the rest.

#4 Interesting.

I don't know of course, but I'm not so convinced that the Iraqi Shia would gravitate to Iran - though that seems to be the conventional wisdom - Christian countries have been warring against each others for centuries. While Catholics v/s Protestants (etc) came into play that's not always the case.

Aren't Iraqis and Persians long separated by culture etc? They just fought a brutal war in this lifetime.

I know everyone keeps saying that they will gravitate towards Iran but I don't think that now that they have their very own goverment and power structure and they have tasted being in charge that they will want to give that up to Iran. How similar are these cultures really - as similar as the north v/s the south? North had to take it by brute force.
