#1 So WaPo defines this as a simple pissing match. Perhaps, in spite of the spin delivered here, it was The Peter Principle... let's see if he goes public down the road with a book tour and the lecture circuit - that has been the pattern of the prima donas who rose to power under Clinton.

#2 Termination happens to those who, instead of fighting this nation's enemies, spend their time undermining the boss's policies.

#3 As station boss in Islamabad, he also missed the entire AQ Khan nuke network and the machinations of ISI. His should have been the second head on the conveyor belt out of Langley on 9/12/01, right after George Tenet's.

#4 Immediately after Sept. 11, the center's chief was tough-talking Cofer Black, who told Bush it was time to "take the gloves off" against terrorism and promised "heads on spikes."

Any more of this in the works?

#5 "Grenier's departure comes at a time when the agency is bleeding top talent, robbing the CIA of institutional memory and damaging morale among case officers and analysts."

Of course this is stated as a Fact. Journalistic Fellation like this will certainly guaranty further access to their disgruntled source.

#6 Why, it's like the WaPo is mourning the loss of some very dear friends...

#8 "Grenier's resignation was first reported on the Los Angeles Times Web site, which said he had sent an e-mail to colleagues acknowledging he had been asked to leave."

Hmmmm....direct line to the liberal media most critical of the Bush Administration. The NYT, the LA Times, and WAPO are always at the center of all this bull and it looks like Goss is on top of this finally.

#9 I see a book in Mr. Grenier's future.

#10 Maybe Goss needs a trap door in his office, leading straight down to the crocodile pit.

And with a neat flushing sound when the button is pushed.

#11 ...museum-quality mementos of his service overseas.

With a few exceptions, I've found shrine building better left to Shriners.
