#5 His surprising clarity is nice. He separates the politics and wrongs from the heros, nice job. This is important, as we should never fall into the same mess of Viet-Nam where all who went were slammed as baby killer. As I read his post of the heros in his Batt My heart tightened as I could feel the anger, fear, and pain of the events and consequences. The press could never completely describe what goes through a mans mind as he faces apparent certain death to pull whats left of a brothers body from under an APC and his decision to stay. It is beyond words and unless one has been there, they can only imagine it like a movie. Therefore, the press takes the easy way out, find something wrong and then point fingers at them. The press should be ashamed, but tonight we will toast the men from 1-184 and their valiant efforts.

#6 Lt Parry can certainly write - excellent work. And he's spot-on - about everything he touched upon. I think I'll email him (available at the link) and ask what I can do for any of his people.

Wasn't the El Lay Slimes the paper that "broke" the BS stories about this battalion in the first place?

The broad brush disease of lazy journalism, added to the cherry-picking of any negative they can divine - or manufacture, is beyond the pale. I find no reason to give the perps (and the El Lay Slimes is among the worst) any credit for anything - ever again. They have been nothing less than traitors. They are not welcome back to civility and freedom, IMHO, even if they do a permanent 180.

#7 The so-called 'Journalists' (LA andd NY Slimes are the worst) should indeed be ashamed of themselves and apologize - publically - to each and every one of these men. These are the real men who went over there and served with valor and honor.

Even though this appeared in the LA Slimes it is buried in their 'commentary' section - no LA Slimes ~~traitor~~ reporter would touch it. Yet the stupid actions of a few mal-contents get front-page headlines for over a year.

#8 All too typical, valor and courage doesn't warrant media coverage while the deviant 5% get breaking news coverage.

It would be great if the old Vietnam Era hippies didn't occupy the decision-making seats in the mainstream media.
