#1 There is another factor at work here. Many lenders have long term commitments like pension funds and life insurance companies and there is a large mismatch between demand for long term instruments and supply as the US and other countries have almost stopped selling long term bonds. The low interest rate reflects the high demand rather than long term inflation expectations (IMHO).
