#1 Well, it's not every day that you see a 7-foot tall, walking talking Brillo pad....

#3 Yup, I'm ashamed, I watch boxing, and k1 (kickboxing) and shoto (free-fight) on Eurosport, plus some UFC and Pride vids on emule... and me who's such a fat slug and a cowardly wuss! The irony!

By the way, even with the example of this gigantic anomaly, size isn't everything, I've got a work colleague, about 22, say 5'3" (short, very light and skinny, though lean, nervous, and sportive) who got into a lotsa streetfights back in his schooldaze (he's a mechanic originally), including ones with knives (about 4-5, he even has a very light scar on the chest), and his usual technique was to send a non-telegraphed lowkick to the knee joint of his opponent, in order to snap it, like the old Savate did (Savate = early "street" french boxing). Worked like a charm, he told me.

Needless to say, I'm always very polite with him.

#4 I always had a hard time watching my son wrestle. I was an active "bleacher participant". I found myself all tight from twisting while sitting in the bleachers almost trying to help turn the guy over, (or from cringing). But I never missed being there.
lol, Us parents always worried about the guys with the tattoo's, like that made them more tough for some reason, now my son has one, heh.

#6 Savate = early "street" french boxing

Yep. A guy at the steel mill where I worked as a youth tried to teach me some of it during our breaks. Tough old bastard in his early 60s.
