Its only fair to me a laid off engineer that my mortage, my kids student loans, my car loans and credit cards all be wiped clean and ... I should still get the interest income tax deduction... cause life isn't treating me like a Bill Gates hourly take...

ITS SO UNFAIR!

#4 Forgive foreign debt?

Sounds like a plan to me.

I think Benin and Brazil should forgive the billions of foreign debt owed to them by "poor nations."

Oh, wait....

#5 LOL it's the ultimate TRANZI wet dream. They keep having it too.

We cut our ag subsidies and we will starve along with most of the world. Those poor 3rd world farmers can't raise enough food to feed us all. They never will be able to either.

#8 Might be worth considering if that was the end of ALL loans and aid. Cash on the barrelhead accepted, of course.

#9 Most developed countries are heavily indebted too; I don't know the stats, but I figure it's about 60% of GNP (?) for say the USA or Japan, I could look it up but I'm lazy, while it's about 130% for France if you look at the real debt (even more with local administrations debts).

Will their debt be scrapped too?

As a generic french citizen, I own about 17 000 euros ($20 000+) to various loaners, or 40 000 as an active worker (though I'm fat and really unproductive), I'd like this to go away, thank you.

#10 We can reform the UN to make it "more representative of the political configuration and the prevailing world economy" by eliminating the General Assembly and ending the fiction that flyblown cesspits like Benin have any importance to anyone who is fortunate enough not to live there.

What Lulu meant to say is these countries aren't going to pay you anyway, so why not make the grand gesture?

The real answer is to quit lending them money and quit investing in countries that refuse to guarantee that they will not nationalize or, through taxation, steal your investment.
