#1 He gets so much right, then draws a total blank on what to actually do... how familiar.

[ranty-rant]
Advocating "understanding"... Right, more yapping while the killing continues wherever Islam, "right" or "wrong", rubs up against infidels - of any stripe. If you had acted instead of calling for dialog and conferences and other pointless bullshit, if you had long ago proposed total cooperation between Muzzies and Law Enforcement, if you had organized the 1st Global Muzzy Division Against Jihad, if you had done something, anything, actually constructive, I would be willing to listen to your wanking. But 4 long event-filled years after 9/11 you're just now beginning to admit there's a divide between the jihadists and humanity... and your real point here is "Please don't bunch us together cuz we're Muzzies!" But that's the real point - you are Muzzies. You are just like them, only cowardly and fat and happy in your passive role of cheerleaders, fundraisers, enablers, apologists, and cover. Fuck you.

Your list of bullet points is cute, but it has gone far past that now - real bullets make more sense. That you have played resource pool for them, instead of actively assisting in the WoT, you and your pathetic lot of bullshit artists are forfeit.

"Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

What part of that didn't you get, fucktard?

You wanked away for 4 years of blue-sky bullshit to reach the point where you should've been on 9/12. Fuck you. Fuck your so-called fabrication of a "right" Islam. Truth: Muslim First, baby. That's the truth you carefully avoid. It's a joke that you're any different, you're just waiting for that phone call, that tap on the shoulder, that email when the activated jihadist puts you to the test... the one where you melt like the cheesedick you are.

You're part of the hand-wringing problem, Wahid, not part of the solution - the permanent demise of an ancient ideology of hate and conquest, lurching into the breech to become modern Nazism: Islam.

#2 Damn, .com - it's not like you to hold back like that.

C'mon, tell us how you really feel.

#3 Seems to me that Mr. Wahid may finally be waking up, even if it is 4 years late. If others follow, this is definitely good news.

#4 Mr. Wahid probably knows that the Wahabis, while currently the most aggresive, most hostile, most implacable sect of Islam are not the only nasty part of Islam.

The slaughter of tens of millions, probably hundreds of millions of Christians, Jews, Bhuddist, Hindus, etc. in dozens and dozens of major wars.

Maybe he doesn't even understand that the 'my religion for me, yours for you' verse has been abrogated in all major Islamic schools.

#5 Sa-weet!, .com! Excellent rant and I am behind you 100%.

Strange thing just happened. I was watching C-Span and they had the MPAC meeting on. A Muzzie was presenting a mystery: Why has the percentage of American who believe Islam is responsible for violence gone from 14 to 34%. To me, the answer is blindingly obvious: Because the American people can read. Sheesh.

#6 Yet can anyone doubt that those who joyfully incinerate the occupants of office buildings, commuter trains, hotels and nightclubs would leap at the chance to magnify their damage a thousandfold?

I wanted to stop reading after that BGO (Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious) but slogged through the whole wretched mess anyway. In light of the author's utter inability to specify exactly how to deal with the above issue from a strong position (note: "Understanding", "dignity", embracing and other touchy-feeley crap is NOT a strong position), I'll vote with .com and call bu||shit on this as well. If the above is all we can expect after FOUR YEARS of ruminating on the subject, Islam is in deep sh!t.

#8 Raf - It hasn't happened yet. This is wanking pure and simple. I'm with .com and Zenster. We face a war of civilizations that wil mosst likely culminate in frying them up(tm).

#9 Better late than never.

I wish I could agree with you more, Rafael. Unfortunately, I cannot. If Islam is so slow to awaken to the fact that its very existence is in peril, then it really beggars the question of whether they:

A) Give a roaring sh!t.

B) Have any intention of resolving the issue.

C) Are even capable of cogently addressing the problem of their continuing survival.

Islam's thundering silence tells me only one thing, moderate Muslims or not, that they are so hell bent on dominating this world that they could give a rip what anyone thinks of them. That attitude needs to be changed quickly and unmistakeably.

#10 I've been wanting to ask this for a long time now: does anyone here have any close Muslim friends? I have three. One Pakistani, One Afghan (married to a non-Muslim), and one Bangladeshi (likes to drink a lot). All are basically westernized, none wish anyone harm*.

Based on my observations, I still have hope. Maybe they're Muslims-in-name-only, I don't know. But if that's the case, then they are not the problem.

* though my Pakistani friend constantly advises me against vacationing in Pakistan

#11 does anyone here have any close Muslim friends? I have three.

One Iranian woman, proud that her family had been secular for four generations was playing the "West deserved it for kicking the Arabs all this time, but Arabs never could have never have done this" game with me right after 9-11.

A Moroccan woman who was visibly upset with me for trying to learn Arabic. She would get visibly frightened when I pointed out to her that things she was doing were shirk or might invite a charge of takfir.

Various Muslims of all nationalities at my last workplace that constantly bombarded me with the "Bush is evil and America is wrong to invade Iraq" line.

About 15 Pakistani engineers from a recently spun off division who gathered in front of the company at breaktime the day after the Iraq invasion and just had that "3rd-world crowd about to go on a rampage" air about them. I'm sure that PD knows of what I speak.

#13 The Wahhabis are like the KKK in the old south. They are evil people who use religion to rally the digruntled, uneducated masses to find someone that they can not only blame for their miserable lives - but that the world would be perfect if only "they" didn't exist. Same ol' tactic used by every evil leader everywhere.

The Wahhabis were allowed to grow like a virus and infect millions while the West examined their belly buttons. Saudi money bought politicians, mass media, mosques and universities and public relations firms. They learned our ways and weaknesses. Most Americans are still oblivious to the true nature of the threat.

Like the KKK in the old south - many whites who didn't participate secretly cheered them on, and many were too afraid to speak out against them for fear of retribution.

This guy may be too little too late - that's true. But maybe the Muslims, like the southerners are starting to wake up to the evil they are sheltering and condoning with by their inaction and silence. Somehow, as their contact with the modern world, I suspect they won't opt for Taliban type rule. I for one hope so.
