#1 I've been in numerous quakes before when I was living here in Tokyo.

But, never felt the, err, "concern" that I felt up on the 35th floor of the New Otani hotel when this latest one hit.

I would have given my left one to be safely down on ground level while that was going on.

#3 IIRC, in the Mexico City one some 15 years ago, the problem was that some buildings were flexible, and some weren't, and the former banged into the latter.
