#1 Yes, but do all those jobs pay $140,000 a year for not showing up - like my Senatorship? I think not! The President owes an apology to all Americans who don't get paid $140K to not show up! It's called a Living Wage...unless you've managed to marry a fine portfolio wife like I did...this was after I was getting wounded serving my country in Viet Nam, of course, but....

Notably, there was actually a gain in manufacturing jobs for the first time in many, many months.

If the jobs gain had been, say 400k instead of the 288k, the Fed would probably be under pressure to jack the prime up by 50 basis instead of 25 in their June meeting.

All in all, this report was about as good as anyone could wish for.

#4 The most recent manufacturing number showed increase in manufacturing employment over the last 3 months, speeding up each month. Not just last month.
